Establishment  Board of Trustees

Jacqueline Woodland

I love watching tamariki, rangatahi learn and rise beyond their horizons. I have 50 years of successful experience in education from Teaching to Principal to Consultant. I have recently been on two Establishment Boards in the Hamilton area. I look forward to working in partnership with the Iwi and the Board to ensure that this new restructure will develop a culture where each learner will see a piece of themselves in the landscape.

Matt Crispe

Living within the Melville school zone and with my tamariki being candidates for attending this new school I have an interest in ensuring it is set up to allow the school and the wider community succeed.

In my current role as a Learning Specialist, I am required to use communication skills to ensure that the training is delivered in a manner which builds the relationship with the learner.

I work as part of a greater team to design, develop and deliver training to internal students.  My role involves liaising with multiple stakeholders to ensure that all learning requirements are met and to manage relationships to ensure the project is delivered on time.  I have recently completed a project management course which has given me good skills and knowledge in project management work.

I have a Bachelor of Applied Economics degree from Massey University.

Krissy Witehira

I believe that my experience and skills in school governance and corporate operational management has equipped me well to be on the Establishment Board. I believe that my community experience, insight and involvement will help bring community confidence to the new Board. I am currently the Campus Manager at Elite School of Beauty and Spa and have previously been a Board member of the Melville High School and Melville Intermediate Schools. I have been a Parent Trustee and Board Presiding Member (Board Chairperson) as well as being on the Disciplinary, Policy Review and Whanau committees.

Ratau Turner

I am the Iwi representative of Ngaati Wairere appointed to the Establishment Board. I have a long history with the Melville area where all of my children have attended school at the primary, intermediate and high schools. I devote a great deal of my time in supporting Ngaati Wairere. I have also been a Board member of the Melville Intermediate school.

Mareta Matenga

I have close to 30 years of Community Development experience, specialising in Youth, Community Engagement, governance, establishing and building partnerships and relationships while building capacity. I am attracted to projects that align with my faith, good family values and bring impact positively to people and our environment.

My growth mindset empowers me to perform at a high level in project management, facilitation, networking, advocacy, teaching, and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.

I work at Kaute Pasifika as the Project Manager, to support the development of the integrated wellbeing service that will be working out of the new fale being built on Hinemoa Park in Hamilton.

I am keen to help achieve better outcomes for our communities and particularly supporting the development of the new college in our Melville Community.

Dave McNulty

During my professional career I have been fully involved in Education. I am passionate about a child centred approach to education which is totally inclusive and culturally responsive. The various roles I have held are teacher, assistant and deputy principals in a secondary school. I have been responsible for curriculum design, policy development, introduction of restorative practices and extensive community involvement in the Melville area.

During my professional career I established very effective working relationships with the local community and my involvement in community groups such as the local pool trust, various sporting groups and the Community House has provided me with further insights into the community.

Anthony Rawiri

I am the Iwi representative of Ngaati Maahanga appointed to the establishment board. I lived in the Melville area all of my school life and I am past student at Melville High School. I graduated from Waikato University with a law degree (LLBA). I am still practising and devote much of my time to supporting Ngaati Mahaanga

(Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Rongomaiwahine, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Porou)

Tēnā rawa atu koe.  As a proud Melville High School alumnus, I have a great passion for the rangatahi in our community and am excited to be able to be a part of the establishment of Mangakōtukutuku College.

I have a BSocSci in Māori & Indigenous studies and Geography and am currently studying a full immersion te reo Māori program at the University of Waikato.  I bring with me experience as a research assistant on projects that investigate institutional racism, cultural memory, and health and well-being; as a consultant with Waikato Tainui on their Marae aspirations project; and as an alumni in the nation-wide rangatahi leadership kaupapa TUIA.

I am thankful for the community who has nourished me and am humbled to be able to give back as a member of the establishment board.  “Tangata ako ana i te kāenga, te tūranga ki te marae, tau ana”- A person nurtured in the community contributes strongly to the society.
